Drukpa Photography is an independent documentary photography practice based in Bhutan, dedicated to visual storytelling from Bhutan and the Himalayan region. Through documentary, cultural, architectural, and contemporary photography, the work explores identity, tradition, landscape, and the evolving realities of everyday life.
Rooted in human observation and long-term storytelling, each project seeks to preserve meaningful narratives through photographs, photo essays, and carefully crafted publications. Drukpa Photography also collaborates with artists, writers, researchers, and visual storytellers to create richer and more diverse perspectives on the stories being told.
Aim
To document, preserve, and share the people, places, cultures, and stories of Bhutan and the Himalayan region through meaningful and visually engaging photography.
Mission
To create a lasting visual archive through photo essays, documentary projects, collaborative storytelling, and photobooks that inspire understanding, celebrate cultural heritage, and contribute to future generations’ appreciation of the region’s diverse identities and live experiences.
From visual essays to photobooks, Drukpa Photography is committed to creating lasting records of people, places, and cultures while supporting photography as a tool for education, cultural preservation, and positive social impact.
